Aberdeen's "Angry Man Car Park" to Play First Glasgow Show
Young Aberdonian four-piece Angry Man Car Park are wasting no time in getting 2019 off to a superb start with the group set to make their Glasgow debut on the fourth of January at Broadcast where they support The Monocasters along with Forglow.
“We are so hyped to be asked to play in Glasgow”, said frontman Adam Strachan when speaking to PurCulture recently. “We still find it mental that we get asked to play gigs in our own city so playing to a room full of strangers is gonna be terrifying but I know we’re still gonna love every minute of it!”
Being asked to play in a city which has such a renowned music scene sends out a strong message to fans and fellow bands alike, the boys are clearly not ones to be underestimated! Having only played their first gig in April 2018, the rest of the year saw them support acts such as Retro Video Club, Nieves and Whitehill Grove. Whilst also venturing out with their hometown to play at events in places such as Dundee and Nairn.
Recently supporting Canary Gold at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen, along with drawing comparisons to eighties icons The Smiths, PurCulture’s Cat Martin wrote, “Angry Man Car Park have an undeniable stage presence and wry magnetism that I hope will carry them further in the future.”
With Martin’s complementary comments quickly becoming the normal chat amongst crowds at the group’s performances and gigs such as their Glasgow show sure to stand them in good stead, 2019 looks set to become a pivotal year for the boys!
Angry Man Car Park play Broadcast in Glasgow on 3rd January 2019 with The Monocasters and Forglow. Tickets are £7 and can be purchased from the link below:
