Neon Waltz Drop New Music Video to Celebrate Biggest Ever UK Headline Tour

Neon Waltz celebrate the announcement of their biggest ever UK headline tour in March 2019 with a brand new single ‘The Stranger Things’ available now. The burst of activity precedes support dates with the DMA’S on their sold out tour this month.

The newly announced dates take them on a 1,200 mile round trip, from Aberdeen (14th March) to Brighton (19th March) and back to Scotland, via Manchester (24th March), London (22nd March) and 10 other UK cities and towns. Tickets are available now.

Recently recorded in Eastbourne, the track is typical of the band’s unique melancholic soaring and poetic songwriting, and demonstrates their authentic and inimitable charm.

Drummer, Darren, says of the track, "In between our live dates in the summer we began serious work on new music.  We're still doing that and we could wait until the time is perfect with a record in hand or we could start letting it go sooner.  ‘The Stranger Things’ is about making sure your priorities are inline.  Or maybe even just about realising those priorities.  It's less frills.  More balls.  Not enough spring reverb.  And too much heart."

The track is accompanied by a brilliantly rock band-mocking video – available to view here – which is directed by the group’s frontman Jordan Shearer, while simultaneously stripping the singer to the waist, dousing him in baby oil and freeing him to release his inner rock god. Spandex-clad, mullet-haired band mates join in, creating one of 2018’s funniest promo videos at the last gasp.

“We basically just wanted to have a bit of fun with one of our videos for the first time,” says Shearer. “We can be terribly cynical when judging other people’s music, so I liked the idea of us slating our own band without realising it’s actually us. After I had the idea we took one day to film it and the editing took one night and one morning. I thought oiling up and prancing around like a tit would be hard, but it felt very natural, funnily enough.”

Lauded by the NME as “Scotland’s coolest new gang” and The Times “A band to get excited about”, their debut album ‘Strange Hymns’ was critically acclaimed on release - “Melodic Beauty … heading ever upwards” **** Record Collector, “Grandiose gorgeousness” DIY, Majestic” Gigslutz - and the band have enjoyed consistent support from 6 Music and Radio X.

Neon Waltz spent 2018 touring relentlessly and building on their loyal live following.

The year started supporting The Sherlocks,  with their own 15 date headline tour in the Spring, as well as selling out the iconic King Tut’s in Glasgow in May.  This was followed by prestigious support dates with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at Blenheim Palace’s Nocturn Live, Scarborough Open Air Theatre and Greenwich Music Time – while also appearing at festivals through the summer including Liverpool Sound City, Tramlines, All Points East and Glasgow Summer Sessions.

The live dates with DMA’S start tomorrow, and the band close the year with a gig at Glasgow’s SWG3 with Baby Strange on 22nd Dec.   The band also announce their biggest headline tour to date with 14 shows nationwide in March 2019 – tickets available now from www.neonwaltz.com.  Also recently announced, the band will appear at

Sunday Sessions Earlham Park, Norwich on 26th May with headline Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds plus Razorlight and The Coral.
