New album “Nature Always Wins” out now
Maxïmo Park are today sharing a striking new lyric video for Ardour, the latest single to be taken from their new album "Nature Always Wins". Recorded and released during unquestionably the most challenging period for any artist, and pieced together remotely across the Atlantic with producer Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter), "Nature Always Wins" debuted at #2 on the UK's Official Albums Chart, and heralds some of the band's most impassioned, stirring, and ambitious work to date. New single Ardour carries a spiky energy, spurred by the biting guest vocal of Pauline Murray from North-East punk greats Penetration.
Singer Paul Smith comments on the song: "Ardour is a song of tension and release. It's a self-aware, semi-humorous tale about how life and love are often hard work. It's a thrill to hear the punk energy of our North-East neighbour, Pauline Murray, on one of our songs."
Through the course of previous singles such as the psychedelic Child Of The Flatlands, Baby, Sleep's playful indie-pop, the jerky and animated I Don't Know What I'm Doing, the widescreen rumination of All Of Me, and political Why Must A Building Burn?, the band have entered into a thrilling new era; one that ties together their story to date in a most cohesive way.
