"Reverend & The Makers: New Single 'UFO' and Tour Announcement"

Reverend & The Makers are back with a bang, having just released their new single “UFO” on Distiller Records. This exciting track, featuring the enchanting trumpet work of Laura McClure, serves as an exploration of our societal obsession with extraterrestrial life. It’s the third single from their highly anticipated eighth studio album, “Is This How Happiness Feels?”, set to drop on April 24, 2026.

Following a monumental headline show at Rock N Roll Circus in Sheffield, where they celebrated their 20-year anniversary to a crowd of 30,000 fans, the band is ramping up the excitement with the announcement of the Old Social Clubs Tour. This underplay tour will take place across seven intimate venues in November and December, starting with a date in Carlisle on November 26th.

Jon McClure, the band’s charismatic frontman, offers intriguing insights into “UFO.” He reflects on his past skepticism regarding UFO enthusiasts, pondering whether our fascination with the unknown might hold some truth. With an assertive reminder that we need to first address the issues on our own planet, McClure’s lyrical commentary resonates on multiple levels.

“UFO” follows previous releases, “Late Night Phone Call” and the summer hit “Haircut,” which featured a duet between Jon and Vicky McClure. This collaboration not only captivated audiences but also saw the track rise to the No. 1 position on iTunes thanks to a notable appearance on BBC’s The One Show, as well as Jon’s guest appearance on BBC Breakfast.

The upcoming Old Social Clubs Tour includes performances at some of the UK’s most beloved venues, including Dunfermline’s British Legion and Sheffield’s Crookes Social Club. Here’s a quick look at the tour dates:

  • November 26: Carlisle, The Brickyard

  • - November 27: Dunfermline, British Legion

  • - November 28: Harrogate, Bilton WMC

  • - December 1: Hull, The Welly

  • - December 3: Cambridge, MASH

This next album, produced by both Danny Lafrombé and Jon McClure, follows the band’s celebrated Top 10 album, “Heatwave In The Cold North.” Known for their soulful sound and heartfelt storytelling, the new material promises to be a fresh yet nostalgic experience for fans. McClure describes the album as a labor of love, keenly expressing pride in what he believes to be their best work yet.

As one of the leading bands of the Sheffield music scene, Reverend & The Makers have consistently delivered acclaimed albums, with an impressive record of seven Top 20 albums to their name. With an evident passion for music and a commitment to evolving their sound, this new era of their career is undoubtedly one to watch.
