Echo November are an alternative indie band from Hertfordshire. Their debut single “Thrown to the Sea” was release on the 16th of august 2018. The response to the song was positive and received very well by the public. Fans expressed their love for the bands first track and excitement to hear more. This resulted in lot of anticipation to hear what would follow from Echo November.
The band’s latest and second single, “Fall into Me” was released on the 16th of November 2018. The song features catchy and upbeat guitar, something that was a feature in the bands debut single. This shows the bands sound and works well in both songs. In fall into me the guitar moves and fits perfectly with the songs vocal and the repeated guitar throughout the songs beginning allows the vocals to soar above without making it sound too busy. The vocals and instrumental of the song accompany each other nicely and lead singer Rob Parkers voice works perfectly with the tune and adds a sense of emotion to the piece.
The chorus is loud and catchy making it stand out against the verses and creates something that people will want to sing along to. The addition of lead guitar in the second verse helps the song develop and keeps it interesting throughout. The guitar played in the second verse is a subtle but effective and really adds to the track as well as the heavy drumbeat introduced in the chorus which helps bring the piece together.
The song’s lyrics are impressive and tell the story of two people fearing what would happen if they were honest about the feelings they have for one another. In the words of the band’s bassist Sam Bojakowski, “The song represents the excitement and thrill of finally admitting the truth of how you feel.” This theme is highlighted through the song’s dynamics and instrumentation. The songs bridge is much quieter and stripped back containing only bass and slowly building up. This shows that fear of expressing those feelings and the much more upbeat versus and choruses fit the excitement mentioned. Having the bridge building up as makes the songs final section much more effective and creates a hook for the lister as the song builds to an impressive finish.
Overall the song has been received well and rightfully so. The catchy versus and chorus makes it something you would want to listen to, and every aspect of the songs instrumentation and vocals works perfectly together as well as telling a story both through the vocals and instrumental. With a new EP on the way this song has perfectly created anticipation for the groups new music and has left fans eager to hear more.
