Pale Waves 'Noises' Review and Tour Dates
Upon first hearing it I thought, ‘oh, this wasn’t how I expected the song to sound’. Personally, I love Pale Waves. I don’t know if it is because they are a British band from one of the most iconic locations and the heart of British music -Manchester- or if it’s simply because of their easily recognisable style.
Pale Waves have an edgy indie look, their appearance, most notably Heather and Ciara (the lead singer and guitarist), really making them stand out amongst other bands. Besides their successes in creating a distinctive ‘goth-pop’ aesthetic and vibe, they have also prospered in being ranked fifth in the ‘BBC Sound of 2018’ poll and have won the NME ‘Under the Radar Award’ at the NME’s.
The band’s most popular hits, ‘There’s a Honey’ and ‘Television Romance’ really capture their familiar feel-good energy that is often found in many of their songs. However their new single ‘Noises’ had a different vibe to it, punchier and stronger than their most popular songs. It’s fresh and different from their norm and I love it! I feel like Pale Waves are just beginning their journey and hopefully in the future will release more singles similar to this, stepping in new and experimental directions.
