The album has already experienced immense critical praise with outlets such as NME stating "this seals these cowboys as a serious entity in modern day psych” and The Fader captures the essence of the band by writing “Vocalist Joshua Loftin calls to mind the similarly melodic albums by Avi Buffalo as he sings of finding energy and hope in a city that can feel stacked against anyone wanting an easy life”.
To record ‘Positive Mental Health Music’, the band headed to their south London studio along side producer Dan Carey. Lead singer/songwriter Joshua Loftin explains that he used the songs to “work through a mental breakdown” and the 11 track LP provides an honest and intimate portrait into this process of self-examination, covering themes of anxiety, depression, love, sex, isolation, fear and failure.
